One God is ruling over all creation. He exists in an incomprehensible form of three distinct persons, referenced in the Holy Scriptures as Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the messiah referenced in the Old Testament scriptures and whose story and teachings are told through New Testament scriptures. He is the second person of the trinity who came to earth to live an incarnate life, a perfect example of a life free from sin. This life made it possible to pay the penalty of judgment created by sin on our behalf. This atoning payment through His death on the cross became the only way to receive salvation and release from our debt of sin.
Salvation is a heart-level acceptance of Christ's payment on our behalf. As men, we don't see the heart and thus take no part in the salvation of others apart from sharing the good news and drawing men into the likeness of Christ through discipleship.
Salvation is through faith alone, by grace alone, not through any human effort. Discipleship is our effort to grow closer to the likeness of Christ and our unique calling through relationships. Christ's relationship with me and my relationship with another is intentionally drawing me into maturity in my faith and awareness of my God-given calling. Discipleship cannot be complete without community. It must include Christ and His Church.
The Bible is the infallible and God-inspired word. The teachings of the Holy Scriptures are the primary means by which we can know God and the primary means by which we come to know ourselves in Him. The Bible is not intended to condemn others when used. It should be used to reflect honestly on oneself and help others to reflect honestly on themselves.
God created humanity as a means to share His loving nature. Humans can return love to its creator through our relationship with our triune God. Christ's payment allows any person who believes His payment is sufficient for themselves, a family member, and an inheritor of grace. Because we have such a great gift, our desire should be to honor that gift by becoming the person God made us to be.
